i think its good that you care about the river. it is very dirty and its not good for the invirement. the lakes (rivers as yours) in denmark, is not dirty and we hold them clean. i think is a little bit wierd, that the people living around the river dont hold it clean and care about the river. because they can do it in their sparetime, but they are to lazy. but i like your thinks about a care and clean river.

# Sujata Aryal 17-11-2008 16:57
Thank you very much Natasja for your opinion. People here are more ignorant of the importance of clean river. Is is not actually a question of laziness. And I am glad to know that your rivers aren't so.
Write again!!

# Himanshu Joshi 20-11-2008 06:25
Yeah, its not about laziness but the misfortune is that we don't have recycling machines and a better place to dump all those garbages! Many people do throw garbages in dust-bins attheir homes but finally, the garbage goes to the rivers, the collectors throw it there!

# the holy river.Ellen Jensen 17-11-2008 08:40
I think your right about they should clean the river, and recycle all the trash that they dump in the river. it could be such a nice place, here in denmark we recycle a lot , and we make people see what a differens it makes. :-)

# Recycling...hmm ...?Sujata Aryal 17-11-2008 16:59
Yes,recycling is good...but in Nepal we don't have a scope for that...You are lucky..

# Ellen Jensen 17-11-2008 21:51
no but if some of the people near the river , took the time , it could be a better place , just a little bit , :-)
greetings Ellen from denmark:-)

# Himanshu Joshi 19-11-2008 12:38
Yeah, you are right! If the people near river took some time, it would be great but sadly, they are also the ones who are polluting the river! They need to get educated and made aware but no one is doing so!!

# Himanshu Joshi 20-11-2008 06:23
Yeah, our government can't afford to bring the recycling machines in Nepal...So you Danish people are really lucky!!

# nastylukas kristian witzansky 17-11-2008 08:48
that is a nasty river.

# Sujata Aryal 17-11-2008 17:00
You really don't have any idea how NAsty IT REALLY WAS!!

# Holy riverJosephine Møller 17-11-2008 08:49
Maybe you should start cleaning the place people live. Like in the city? If you are drinking the water, it's ofcourse more important to clean the water. Because you can get sick, of drinking it! :-)

# Himanshu Joshi 19-11-2008 12:41
it's ofcourse more important to clean the water!! but its not the water that we drink! The same river comes down from the mountains, so they are clean at places where there is forest and no people living nearby! So, our drinking water also comes from the place where the river is clean! But yes, our city lloks ugly because of this dirty river!! Something needs to get done very soon! :s

# himaria 17-11-2008 09:20
hi...
we understand that they must clean the river because it may not smell very well with all the peel and trash around!
from randi and maria

# Himanshu Joshi 19-11-2008 12:42
Yeah, it smells horrible! So, something great must be done to clean it! But we students are helpless beacause we need everybody's effort to clean it!

# Dirty riverSøren Christensen 17-11-2008 09:43
Ohh my god thats nasty :-x
Cant you do anything do clean all the shit away? In Denmark are we so civilized that we have trash-places, where we are burning all the trash, and we getting energy, when we burning it :woohoo:

Greetings from Denmark

# Himanshu Joshi 19-11-2008 12:46
Yes, its really nasty!
But we students can't do anything to clean it all away! We need a proper dumping site to dispose all the garbnage and to recycle all those wastes, but our government has not been able to buy the expensive machines which would recycle the wastes. Since, we don't have any such machines, its directly thrown into the river! Illiterate people even add more! So, we are very sad about that!

# ShitDominic 18-11-2008 10:40
my good god I think I have never heard such a dirty story about such a river which is so dirty it is.
You do not just throw all its waste into a river. :-x :-x :-x :-x :-x

# Sujata Aryal 19-11-2008 16:06
Really? Come to Nepal and I can show you at least ten of those!

# Himanshu Joshi 20-11-2008 06:14
yeah...but its not so easy to control the pollution!! The government has not brought in machines to refine the wastes because of lack of budget and there is no safer place to dump all the garbage! So, uneducated people find it easy to throw them away in the river! We know its not good but then its getting helpless!

# Holy RiverJanan 18-11-2008 11:07
I have seen a dirty river, like this, in Iraq. I dont understand why people dont make it clean, or stop with throwing trash and other stuff in the river. Especielly when it is a Holy Rive

# Sujata Aryal 19-11-2008 16:09
Okay Janan,it's not like we don't want to see a clean river. But we lack the process of purifying of these trashes, as our country is poor and on the path of development.Jus t think of all trashes of thousands of people and no where to throw them,so it is the river where we all throw it.

# Himanshu Joshi 20-11-2008 06:15
Yeah, like Sujata has said, even we love to see our rivers clean but then we don't have advanced recycling machines like you people. There is no other better place to throwthe garbnage, so they go directly into the river! Sad!!

# cleannatasja 19-11-2008 10:34
cant they imagine a clean river? it would be pretty and beautifull. its sad they dont now much about it. Isnt there any information to people about cleaning the river? isnt there anywone who have told them how? thank you for your answer. at last i want to tell you, that we at my school have a feature week starting friday and ending next thursday. so i can answer back on the friday - last day of the napal blog. :-)

# Hi....again...Sujata Aryal 19-11-2008 16:14
Well... there has been efforts offcourse to raise awreness but the process is really slow. But I do hope to see good change in future. And best of luck for your feature week and thanks for the question again...
-From Nepal...

# Is that holy?Mark 19-11-2008 10:34
Sorry to say it, but if that's holy, then how do your god look =/? I just mean, that river can't mean ANYTHING to the people in the city, since they just use it as a trash can... Is that place STILL the most important part of the city?? Grrr, people in your town are too careless :Pinch:

# Sujata Aryal 19-11-2008 16:17
Mark,
It's all right.Well yes that river is holy. And I think even God complains to us now and often.
And people in my town are not careless they are just too ignorant!

# That sucksMark 26-11-2008 10:03
Well really... That just sucks =/

# Himanshu Joshi 20-11-2008 06:20
Mark, the river is supposed to be holy as it passes through many temples in our city but when it passes through the residential areas, it gets polluted.
People do throw the garbage in theor dust-bins, at their own homes but then the garbage collectors collect it all abd throw it in the river bank! The government is not getting any alternative place and there are no advanced recycling machines!

# Daniel Lomholt Larsen 19-11-2008 12:21
Oh my God, sorry to say but that can't be holy, i mean - people just dump alot of thigs in it like it was a dump place.

Grettings from Daniel, Denmark. B)

# Sujata Aryal 19-11-2008 16:19
Daniel, people just dump things in it and don't you worry when you come if ever to Nepal I promise to keep you away from those.

# Daniel LomholtDaniel Lomholt Larsen 20-11-2008 08:19
Yea okay, why not get any signs or some that checks that you dont dump in it, so it can be more clean? :-)

# Himanshu Joshi 20-11-2008 06:21
Te river is supposed to be holy as it passes through many temples in our
city but when it passes through the residential areas, it gets polluted. People worship the river in temple banks but the same river gets polluted on the way! There is no other better alternative to dump the garbage! So sad!

# Daniel Lomholt Larsen 26-11-2008 10:59
Aww, very sad i see

# Joachim 20-11-2008 09:11

# Joachim 20-11-2008 09:12
hello there.
why is all that dirty stuff ended up there? :-?: :-?:
loves from me

# Himanshu Joshi 21-11-2008 03:42
yeah...but its not so easy to control the pollution!! The government has not
brought in machines to refine the wastes because of lack of budget and there is
no safer place to dump all the garbage! So, uneducated people find it easy to
throw them away in the river! We know its not good but then its getting

# Hej.Camilla Vraa 20-11-2008 11:22
Hello, what can you do to do the river more clean, there where you are. why don't you do something?

# Himanshu Joshi 21-11-2008 03:44
We students cannot do so much to control the pollution on our own but yes, we can train the people living nearby the rivers about the importance of cleaning the rivers :!:
Actually, the The government has
not brought in machines to refine the wastes because of lack of budget and there is no safer place to dump all the garbage! So, that's the problem!

# A holy place?!?!Morten Rechter 21-11-2008 08:06
I was really amazed when i saw this. If this is one of your holy places, I don't even want to hear about a place that is not holy. Why doesn't the people living around do anything? Or the churches? I just think it is weird that a holy place is treated like that, and I hop for you that something is going to be done to remake the nature around the river, because it really could get beautifull.

# Sujata Aryal 22-11-2008 16:14
Hi Morten, Well its basically the rivers which are quite dirty, because we have no other alternative than this.See, our country is not rich like yours and thus we have a long way to go..As I have mentioned above if the people know what to do they would it but they are just ignorant. And churches are called "Temples" and even they themselves are not strong enough to fight for the rivers. Anyway not all places are so,You can go to google and search places in Nepal which I am sure you will find beautiful.

# sanne jepsen 21-11-2008 13:32
Hello :-)
i can't believe that they're throughing garbage there? don't you have a garbage dump?
i think there would be very beautiful if there were clean.
- can't any of you who lives there do anything to make the river more clean?

-Sanne Jepsen :P

# Sujata Aryal 22-11-2008 16:17
Well yes the place would look really beautiful..and no I have not seen a garbage can all my life. But I hope to see soon!
I guess the people living there can't really do anything , actually the people living there are not bothered by the pollution. They have grown resistence in them which protects them from all kinds of illness.....

# sanne jepsen 25-11-2008 09:07
it's sad to hear.
In Denmark it would be ilegal to through garbage in places like that. And the people who lives there are very sick right?
i think somebody must do something soon... :-)

# Himanshu Joshi 25-11-2008 15:56
They are not so ill inspite of saying nearby the river because they are already used to it! :silly: Yes, something must be done to solve it but nothing will happen unless the government brings strict laws and rules and also brings in advanced machines to recycle the garbage and pan out a better place to dump all the garbage!

# Pernille Jørgensen 26-11-2008 10:28
Heii

it's very awfull to see what it's like in Nepal with the Holy River!
can't you get any help with cleaning all the garbage away from other poeple in Nepal?

In Denmark we have people to clean it up, and they work for the state, so we don't have garbage in our streams, and on the streets. (:
We have systems that take care of that there isn't any polition in our streams.

We would like to hear from you.
Love Pernille and Melissa :cheer:

# nIce to hear from you guys!Sujata Aryal 27-11-2008 15:57
Hiii ...Pernille and Melissa,
Yes that is our holy river. And the suggestion you made is not practically possible because if we do remove the garbage from the rivers there is no where to throw..
-Bye(Sujata)
